Dear City Calvary Chapel,
Just for fun, I googled “Movies about the end of the world” to see how many films Hollywood has come up with. As you can imagine, the list is long. Australia has produced quite a few as well. The vast majority all end the same way – bleak, world destroyed, little to no hope for humanity.
I’m so thankful for the Bible which tells us what actually will happen. The end is not bleak, the world is not destroyed, and there is tremendous hope for humanity. However, there will be a time of judgement as Jesus retakes possession of the earth. This past Sunday, we looked at Revelation 6, as Jesus opens six of the seven seals on the scroll. As we saw, each one of the corresponding judgements will be perfect justice for a fallen world that has rejected God.
What are we to do about this? Psalm 90:11-12 “Your wrath is as awesome as the fear you deserve. Teach us to make the most of our time, so that we may grow in wisdom.”
Let’s make the most of the time we have. Love Jesus, live for Him, serve Him, tell people about Him, make every day count for His kingdom.
Coming this Sunday, we are in chapter 7 where we see that, even in the midst of God’s wrath, He is full of grace and mercy for those who will believe.
Come out tonight for Midweek as we seek to gather together, grow together, and go minister in a world that needs Christ.
Blessings in Jesus,
